Tomato can be grown in both Rabi and Kharif seasons. In Hardoi district, it is cultivated in three main seasons. Rabi season: nursery October–November, transplanting November–December. Kharif season: nursery June–July, transplanting July–August. Zaid season: nursery January–February, transplanting February–March. The Rabi season crop is considered the best for Hardoi region.

The tomato crop is ready 90–120 days after transplanting.

Nursery stage: 25–30 days.

Vegetative stage: 20–25 days after transplanting.

Flowering: 30–40 days after transplanting.

Fruit setting: 15–20 days after flowering.

First harvest: 60–90 days after transplanting.

Total duration: 120–150 days from nursery to final harvest.
