Brinjal can be grown in both Kharif and Rabi seasons. It is a warm-season crop. In Hardoi, nursery for Kharif is prepared in May–June and for Rabi in August–September.

First harvest: 60–75 days after transplanting.
Total duration: 100–130 days.
